I wrote an article this week titled ‘Will there be a recession in 2024?’ and the response from Article Muse worked really well.
I think perhaps Article Muse responds best to more informational articles, as opposed to articles that express an opinion or act as guides.
Here’s a screenshot below:
Take for for example the second paragraph that Article Muse suggested, titled ‘Expert Predictions: Differing Views’.
In this paragraph, Article Muse suggested three separate predictions, linked to three separate websites.
This made it easy to research the topic, and then build the paragraphs around these ideas. It also provided a clear framework that could then be discussed.
See the paragraph I wrote from this below. All the links were sound, and within the articles there were even more links to sources of quality information.
SEO & Article Muse
SEO is not something that I’m interested in for Article Muse at the moment because it starts to get too complicated, and therefore broken.
Plus, I don’t want the AI to become too restrictive. The use of Article Muse should always be complementary, and never replace the writing process, or even the SEO process in my opinion.
While SEO can be helped sometimes with the use of AI, at some point, human intuition has to be taken into account.
An effective SEO strategy is often about targeting keywords that none of your competitors have targeted, which involves human research.
AI is only effective at compiling and sorting the information it has been given, it has no capacity for original ideas.
And if writing is ‘a campaign against cliche’, it means that successful writing is always about writing something that nobody else has thought of, and breaking the rules slightly.
Things to improve on
Depending on the question, Article Muse will give mixed results.
I.e., sometimes it just doesn’t work.
Even with this current result, for some reason, Article Muse just gave up on the facts section at the end.
Articles that are about specific events, often contemporary, seem to work the best. As academic papers are often locked behind paywalls, this can provide a challenge for some of the link building.
Moving forward, I will be focusing on Article Muse’s capacity to provide other useful frameworks, similar to the five facts section.
They should push the writer into considering other areas, and expanding the writing process, rather than trying to ringfence it.
