In the latest update, ChatGPT now scans the internet live.
No more cutoff from September 2021.
With Article Muse, I had to command it to use the browser tool.
Now what I always wanted was for ChatGPT to browse the internet for me, which is not what it is. It’s an LLM but unfortunately not a search engine (yet).
However, it can still be done.
The main issue for Article Muse was that it wouldn’t provide links, or if it did, they were all broken.
But after a lot of tinkering, I managed to get it to work.
Now, Article Muse will provide a framework, as well as relevant, clickable links where it got the information.
For this example, I asked it to outline an article on the history of the British Pound.
On ‘Source: Currency Information and Research’, it links to: https://currencyinformation.org/history-of-the-british-pound
This link is legit and works well as a source.
I also added a small section which will be useful for writers. It gives tips for a conclusion, keywords to include, as well as additional facts which might be useful to sprinkle into the article somewhere or to give food for thought to some other sections of the article.
Improvements to make
It often provides the same link multiple times. It’s like it finds one good one, and then just runs with it for the entire plan.
I need to add a command which makes it use varied sources for each section, but it feels like you push it too much and it gets confused. High-quality sources are better than 20 links to broken pages, which is often what happens if you push it.
If you have premium ChatGPT, you can check out Article Muse here, and maybe give me some tips on how to improve it.
