You might have seen me talk about this before, but LinkedIn is awesome for copywriters.
If you’re reading this now, and you don’t have LinkedIn, go make one now. You can even connect with me here.
Why is it good?
LinkedIn is one of the best platforms out there for copywriters right now.
It’s a place where you can find what other writers are doing and how they’re doing it. I’ve had so many ideas and problems solved by stalking other copywriters on LinkedIn.
Anytime you’re stuck on what to do, or want to improve, you can find someone at any level on LinkedIn, from small-time content writers just starting to the big LinkedIn influencer writers “life hackers” with hundreds of thousands of followers.
Some of the best content can be found by following copywriters and seeing what they comment on and like. This is usually how I come across new stuff that’s of actual value on LinkedIn, and not just how to 10x productivity or some other BS.
Some of the best people to follow
I’ve made two posts about the best copywriters to follow on LinkedIn
Here’s the first one:
And the second one:
I’m finding new ones every day.
Alex Thompson is my current favourite. He posts some great, genuine content on LinkedIn, and has a strong network.
Using LinkedIn for outreach
Some copywriters use LinkedIn solely for their outreach.
This isn’t me personally, not yet anyway, but I still use it as part of my outreach process.
Cold email is my go-to, but I always add the person on LinkedIn after contacting them.
It’s a great way for them to see my face, see that I’m legit, and also keep them in my network.
Often the downside of cold email is that if they don’t need you straight away, they’ll forget you ever existed.
But LinkedIn keeps you in their contacts.
