I know this is your favourite email series as well as mine.
If you’re new, here are the previous ones:
2 is weird spam emails.
3 is even weirder ones.
4 is rude rejections. Enjoy.
1. I Trust You Are Thriving!
“I trust you are thriving”.
I am thriving, thanks for asking. You can trust this.
‘Thriving’ makes me think of pondlife or bacteria.
This email takes ages to unpack. But it does actually make sense. They’re offering me a B2B database, so basically some outreach thing.
The subject line is a bit mad as well.
It goes:
Caleb - Propel your Start-Ups business with our qualified list for Finnus
Is my start-up not my business?
I guess they mean my business’s business. (Sounds like the legal team wrote this iykyk).
But then at the end is my company name Finnus, so it’s like three times in one sentence.
Could it not be?:
Caleb — Propel your business
or
Propel your business with qualified leads
or
Need leads, Caleb?
Might be easier to read.
2. Rude guy
You all know my friendly, harmless outreach email:
Hey [Name],
Hope you’re well.
Do you need any help with your content strategy at [Organisation]?
Let me know.
Caleb
Clearly, I rubbed this guy the wrong way.
This would go well in Insane Emails 4.
The thing is I work from home, so my company address is literally my home address, so I don’t like to shout about it. I also just didn’t have it on there.
But it is on Companies House if he actually wanted it.
Now that I am a (small) business owner, I don’t understand why people get so stuck up and touchy about stuff like this.
Makes no sense. I work with some very legit clients who are super nice and do not care about stuff like this, because they’re normal, nice people.
Never work with rude people!
That’s it for today. If you have any insane emails please send them my way I’d love to read them.
Take care,
Caleb
